V-Day #5-Quilted Mani

I stumbled across a new blogger, Mo Diddie, and she has the coolest nail art designs!  I found a super cute quilt mani she did (you can check it out HERE), and decided to copy it for Valentine's Day!  Check it out...
I painted two coats of Nars Pokerface for the base, and then I freehanded the squares with Nerd Lacquer's Holoday Sugar Plum.  Mo Diddie used scotch tape to make the squares have a much cleaner edge to them. I am not so patient, so I sacrificed perfection to get done quicker.
I wanted to see what this design would look like with other polishes, so I did my other hand in purples. I don't think I like it as much, but I will still share it with you. :o)
My base is two coats of ManGlaze Mink Mitten.  I then freehanded the squares with Nina Ultra-Pro Purple X-ing.  Which one do you like better?
Click HERE to check out Mo Diddie.  She has great polka dot, water marbling, and other manis!

Awesome mani! I can't wait to get my stamping plates to try some new ideas!
I like the pink better but the purples are nice too. Thanks for showing.

The second one would look great with a rhinestone stuck in the middle!
