Steampunk Jewelery

Very recently, I stumbles across Steampunk Jewelry on Etsy.  I fell head over heels in love!  Most of it is too expensive for me to buy, but I did find a couple of affordable ones!  The first one I bought from Marokel Jewelry.  It was easily affordable at $10.25.
***Now before I continue, I am going to provide a disclaimer: I am allergic to wearing all types of metal except platinum.  Metals make me itch and cause me to break out in tiny bumps where the metal was touching.***
Seeing as this ring was only a mere $10, I knew it wouldn't be made of platinum. LOL. I knew it would be made of the cheap stuff.  The top piece was amazing however! There are several layers of metal gears resting in resin. I have gotten a ton of compliments on it!
Unfortunately, I can't wear it for long periods of time, because the band turns my finger green. After the first eight hours of wear, the silver on the band was wearing off.  I think the solution is going to be for me to find a better quality band and exchange them.
The second ring I bought is from Blackstone Foundry.  It cost me $25.  Considering that others like it were going for $50, I thought it was a good deal.
This ring is stunning. I love the watch details on it and the gems are beautiful too!  Unfortunately, the ring band was another cheapie.  It is a plated-silver band and also adjustable. I knew those were two no-no's when I bought it, but I bought it anyways.  This band makes my finger itch within an hour of wearing it.
I think I am going to have to look into getting a better quality band for this one too!
Maybe I'd better stick to shopping for polish.

wow they are some cool looking rings ! I'm allergic to metals too, expect for gold and platinum loll, pita ! But for me with cheaper rings that do irritate me I put a clear coat of polish on all the metal that will come into contact with my skin, and so no more green fingers or rashes ! You should try it and see if it works for you, saves a lot of money lol (but it's an excellent excuse for expensive jewelry loll ; ) (sorry this comment is soo long !)

Nail Loopy, that is by far, one of the most helpful comments I have ever received on my blog! Thank you and I am definitely going to try that!

They are beautiful and so interesting. My mom is allergic to all jewelry and uses nail polish on anything from rings, watches even belt pieces that come in contact with her skin. It works most of the time, some times there are just to much metals and her hormones at times.

I too am allergic to metals. I put medical tape on the other side of buttons/studs on my jeans. yeah try a clear coat of polish. I did that for cheap earrings that are cute but I'm allergic to.
