August Monthly Favorites!

It's that time again!  The last day of the month brings on a new round of monthly favorites!  So here we go!!  If you are new to my blog, I started a monthly favorites two months ago!  You can find my other posts in the links on the side of my blog under "Monthly Favorites."

#1: SoFlaJo Moonlight Bay: Moonlight Bay is a gorgeous matte black with silver fleck.  It is elegantly stunning whether matte or shiny.  It goes on in 1-2 coats and is a pleasure to work with!
#2: KB Shimmer Shipwrecked (shown here over Sinful Kissy):  I have now had the pleasure of swatching several KB Shimmer polishes and I love many of them. But THIS one just beats them all!  It really reminds me of treasure at the bottom of the sea. A well-thought-out array of glitters...
#3: Naild'It Unique Polishes Summer Lovin' Melon:  I can't say enough how unique Andrea from Naild'It's polishes are!  To create a polish based on watermelon is awesome!  And I was tickled by how awesome it looked on the nail!

Lacquistry:  Lacquistry was the first indie polish I ever bought.  I bought MANY of Jenna's creations and fell in love with them!  She has always had stellar service; but has brought that service up even another notch!  I received this in the mail:
Without anyone even asking, Jenna took it upon herself to replace certain polishes that she had found bleeding glitters in.  I started buying from her a year ago.  Golf Socks was my first indie.  She is replacing polishes from a year ago with no one even asking her!  THIS is first class service and those of you who have never bought from Lacquistry can get a peak at some of her polishes below!  I also have a ton of swatches of her stock items. Click HERE for those!
Sinful Colors:  I have never owned a Sinful Colors polish until Walgreens had the 50% off sale. I mean, $2 was cheap enough, but $1 was a no-brainer!  I bought about 17 of them, and with few exceptions, they have far surpassed my expectations in uniqueness, creativity and quality!  I think they are easily worth $6 each and some-like Kissy and Winerberry-are worth even more!

Loodie Loodie Loodie:  I'm sure you have ALL heard of THIS blog!  Loodie, Loodie, Loodie is a fantastic nail care blog written by a woman with a very dry, smart sense of humor.  She makes me laugh and she has made me cry. She wears her heart on her sleeve and I can't get enough of her!
MO Diddie's Nails:  I stumbled across this blogger awhile ago, and she is actually the reason I have this section in my monthly favorites!  I wanted to introduce you to blogs that are super fantastic for whatever reason, but are flying under the radar.  Her nail art is FABULOUS!  I have copied several of her designs.  She does a ton of YouTube tutorials, and her nail art is pretty much perfect. Check her out!
Whimsical Ideas by Pam:  Pam doesn't seem to come out with brand new shades often, so when she does, I am in a fervor!  Her CS is top notch and her polishes are ALL great in quality and in creativity!  I have yet to find issue with any of the polishes that I own of hers!  She makes ordering easy. You just browse her pictures on Facebook, email her with your order, and she emails you back with an invoice!  SIMPLE. I might add that the three or so times I have ordered from her, I received my order within 2-3 days of being invoiced!  She does not ship internationally though, so make friends with some American gals. :o)

Flower Leaf:  This Scrabble tile ring immediately caught my eye on Etsy!  What I LOVE about Etsy is that I can see what everyone in my circle puts into their favorites and it allows me to find things I would never know to look for!  This gorgeous ring from Flower Leaf is one of those things!
Sisicata:  I was blessed to find this stunning beauty in my circle of friends on Etsy!  The butterflies are ethereal and fantasmical!  She is a Polish designer who specializes in resins and silver.  Check her out!

Whimsical Ideas By Pam-Magical Mystery Tour!

Whimsical Ideas by Pam has some of the most beautiful polishes.  She doesn't often come out with new ones, so when she announced new polishes, I jumped on two of them. I would have bought more, but money was tight.  Today, I have for you Magical Mystery Tour.  Magical Mystery Tour is a plum jelly base with almost NEON sparkly electric blue glitter in it!
I used three coats to get it to the deep plum that I saw in the bottle, but you could possibly get away with two.   Application was a breeze, just like it seems to be with every single one of her polishes!  The glitters disperse EVENLY and without trying.  I say it like that, because I have had plenty of polishes where I had to manipulate the glitter or try a little bit harder to get them where I want them. This polish was as easy as putting on a creme.  Simple and effortless.  And the rewards of it are plenty!
I would be remiss not to tell you that Pam has the fastest shipping ever!  I received my order within 3 days of being invoiced! This happened to me all three times that I ordered from her!   It did help that I emailed her immediately upon seeing the new polishes.
To order from Whimsical Ideas by Pam, just email her your order at    You can see the photos of the polishes she is selling, by clicking HERE.  Once you email her, she will email you back with the cost, including shipping. You just pay her via Paypal and she sends you the polish.  Simple and easy.

KB Shimmer Clown Puke

To know me, is to know my love for multi-colored glitters.  Today, I am finally going to show you KB Shimmer's Clown Puke!  I put two coats of Clown Puke over Sinful Black on Black. It is FILLED with a myriad of different sizes and shapes of glitters and colors.
I had some issues with minor curling of red bars and larger gold squares; but honestly a top coat smoothed out the squares just fine.  The glitters came out in full force and I had only minor issues with getting them to spread easily.
Here is what Clown Puke looks like matted!  This is my favorite look for the multicolored glitters!
Here is a close-up!

Naild'It Dandelion Swatches and Review and Picture SPAM!

Boy, have I got a treat for you!  Naild'It just can't seem to stop coming out with new and unique color combos! She sent me one for review called Dandelion, and when I saw it, I thought, "Oh no, a yellow polish."  I am not a fan of yellow and figured I would just make the best of it. Then I had the idea to put it over a sky blue like Sinful Colors Cinderella!  After all, aren't Dandelions best when seen under a beautiful blue sky?  So, first, here is a swatch of Sinful Colors Cinderella.  What you see is two coats and it went on well if not slightly thick.
There is a fantastic pink glass fleck in there that shimmers in the sun!
I then layered one coat of Dandelion over Cinderella.  Dandelion went off without a hitch. There were plenty of yellow and white matte glitters in one coat. There are also white bar glitters that I believe, resemble the whips of the dandelion.  If I was to nitpick, I would say I wish more of those came out of the bottle.
Here is a close-up!  Isn't it cute? Would I be wrong to say it reminds me of scrambled eggs?
Now, if that isn't enough, I also decided to layer it over an apple green. Here is Sinful Colors Innocent.......
This is a perfect creme apple green. I used two easy coats and had no issues with it.  I don't know what happened to me!  I went from hating green to loving it!
I layered Dandelion over it and again only used one coat.  The glitters in it are so plentiful, there is no need for more!  I thought this would be a great color combination and it really reminds me of spring.  After having used Dandelion and seeing the versatility it has, I am thankful that Andrea sent it to me to review as I would have never bought it on my own!  I can't wait to try it over black, and a purple!
I forgot to mention that the base has a light shimmer to it and is not clear. You can see the shimmer in this close-up.

UP Colors Azul Disco and Lilas Chrome and Stamping!

I really love holos.  When Llarowe started carrying the UP Colors on her website, I knew I had to have some.  I first bought Salsa Verde and fell in love.  Now I have two more to show you!  First is Azul Disco. It is a denim blue with a loose holo. I used two coats, but it did not apply smoothly.  Oddly, I would load my brush with polish but it just went on as if my brush was dry.  Very strange.
Here you can see how closely this polish resembles the color of faded denim.
Here it is in the shade!  I like to test out holos this way-see if they hold their own in the shade. If they don't, what's the point of it?
Lastly, I am practicing my stamping.  Here is one of my plates from the new BM 2012 series.
Next, is Lilas Chrome.  Lilas Chrome just reminds me of roses.  It is a rosy pink holo and has  slight linear holo.  What you see here is two coats.  Fortunately, the application on this one was much better than Azul Disco.  This one applied smoothly.

Here is Lilas Chrome in the shade.  It is pretty on its own!
And I used the same stamping plate for this hand.  One of my issues has been stamping straight on my nail and getting the whole stamp on there!
You can buy UP Colors from Llarowe and Ninja Polish.

KB Shimmer Shipwreck over Sinful Colors Kissy and Nubar Elegant Indigo!

Well, today's post combines two beautiful polishes-one large company brand and one indie brand.  First, let me show you the large company brand. Sinful Colors Kissy is one I got when Sinful Colors had their $1 sale.  I had previously owned only two Sinful Colors.  NO MORE. This brand has consistently proven to me that they are easily on par with the higher end brands in application and creativity!
So, check out Kissy....
Kissy is an aqua-teal base with gold flecks in it.  I put on two coats and the polish went on easily and had great consistency.  I really would not expect a $1 polish to have such a gorgeous and unique color!
I loved it so much, that I did not put my indie polish over it for two days.  I did experience minor tip wear after two days, but since I generally change my polish daily, that isn't a big deal to me.
What would you possibly want to cover up such a beautiful polish with?  KB Shimmer Shipwreck!  I put two coats of Shipwreck over Kissy and it was love at first sight!
It is a green/blue jelly base with rich colored glitters in it.  It layered well and the glitter dispersed evenly.
WOW.  I mean look at it!  The depth is unreal.
I also layered Shipwreck over Nubar Elegant Indigo.  I hadn't seen it over a black based polish yet, and was curious as to what it would look like.  While I don't love it as much as I loved it over Kissy, it is still stunning.
This is also two coats of Shipwreck.  The glitter does seem to pop more over a darker base.

Sinful Colors Hazard and Naild'It Mermaid Tears

The purpose of this post is two-fold. First, I want to share the most beautiful coral creme ever!  I first saw Sinful Colors Hazard when Amy from I'm Feeling Nail-venturous posted a gorgeous stamping swatch on her blog with this as the base color.  I KNEW I had to get it! I am not a big fan of corals, but lately, I have been eyeballing them!
What you see is two easy coats of Sinful Hazard.  Anyone else like me and never try a Sinful Color until recently? I am just floored by the quality and the beauty and originality of some of these polishes! And for $2, that is just crazy NOT to buy it!
Now, I said there were two reasons for this post. The second reason is to reshow you what Naild'It Mermaid Tears look like when using a full-sized bottle of polish.  In case you are wondering what I am talking about, Naild'It had sent me some mini polishes to review-Indie Pen-dance and Mermaid Tears.  I had experienced trouble getting any glitter out of the mini bottles, and my previous post told you that.  When Andrea from Naild'It read my review, she told me she had issues trying to get the correct glitter to base ratio in the minis and had gotten rid of the mini bottles and wanted to send me a full-sized Mermaid Tears.  So, here are my swatches of the full-sized Mermaid tears over Sinful Colors Hazard.
What you see is two coats on all fingers except the pinkie. I had no issues with application and it covered really well and evenly!  It is a gorgeous polish!  As in my other post, I still love the end result, but this time application was a breeze!  Thank you, Andrea!

"No Buy" Haul Post. Oopsie....

So, at the beginning of August, I put myself on a no-buy.  It lasted 11 days.  Then, I splurged pretty hard-core for three days.  Today's post is my haul from those three days.  FYI: I have not bought anything else since those three days.
First of all, you really can't blame me for breaking a no-buy to buy a LE RBL Scrangie!  I mean, I really thought I would never be able to get my hands on one; and when this fell into my lap at a reasonable price, I couldn't say, "Well, no. I'm on a no-buy."  NO!  So, here is my beautiful Scrangie!  Thank you, Ana!

Then, I got a $10 credit on Copious, so I bought a new-to-me indie, Hot Mess Lacquers!  The wrapping is adorable!
I don't know about you, but with all the indies coming out, some are starting to look the same. This one didn't. And can you really blame me for spending $1.60 of my money on this after my credit?  I didn't think so!
This is called Across the Trailer Park.  Another great reason to buy this polish is the name!  And check out the blue base and green and blue glitters!  Yumm!
Then I asked some ladies to keep an eye out for the old Sally Hansen Nail Prisms (duo chromes) for me. Within minutes, people were showing me blog sales with them on there!   I bought these on a blog sale!
My first Color Club-Revvvolution!  It is the holo one, and I love charcoal grey!
SH Nail Prism Blush Diamond.
SH Nail Prism Lapis Amethyst.
SH Nail Prism Mandarin Garnet.
Of course, my friend Gina, did a group buy and I got these gorgeous Cult Nails through her.
Here is Deal With It.
Here is Manipulative!
And an amazing lady named Tina bought these Girly Bits for me when I was hard up for cash!
Girly Bits Roger That-a beautiful blue holo!
Girly Bits Smurf Dance!  You can see my post on it HERE, as I did things backwards and used it before posting my haul.:o)
And I can't say no to Whimsical Ideas by Pam!  It is like I get a fever when she posts new ones, and I HAVE to have them!  I only got two, so to me that is showing restraint.
I have a HUGE love of NYC, and so I couldn't NOT get this one!
And I am a SUCKER for purple with blue, pink or green glitters in it, so Magical Mystery Tour was a must!
This next polish is awesome for two reason: My friend Jin-Jit swapped with me and she lives in Israel and she gave me some Israeli candy!  And also, it is Sally Hansen Nail Prism Garnet Lapis!
Jin-Jit, I still owe you something!!!
Oopsie Daisies is a new indie on the block.  She sent me this beauty to review!
It is called Cultist Chic!  I love the label, love the shop name, and love the colors!
Here is what started it all.  The Crumpet was having an EPIC blog sale that I managed to snag some awesome stuff off of!
I had to get Butter London Artful Dodger!  BL's have such perfect application!
When I saw the duo chrome of these two Color Clubs, I had to test them out!  This is Sky High...
 And Metamorphosis...
Another Sally Hansen...This is Cinnabar Opal.
Here is the last trio I bought for this month.  Naild'It mentioned closing up shop for a couple of weeks, and I really wanted to get a few!
Coral Reef seems to be flying under the radar for some STRANGE reason!  Look at it!  I really want to put this one on!!!
And Gummy Bears.... LOVE the name, and LOVE the glitter/base combo!
Andrea kindly sent Dandelion for me to review!  I already have an idea for it too!
And my special custom!  We worked on this one for weeks, and it is perfect!  I called it, "Real Women Wear Camo."
Well, I hope that was enough to whet your appetite!  I can't wait to swatch these for you in the upcoming months!
