Whimsical Ideas by Pam-I HEART N.Y.

I LOVE New York.  I really, really do.  I could go off on a super-long tangent about how I fell in love with NYC when I was in 7th grade and had read about it in books, or I could tell you that on my first visit to NY, I cried when I left.  I could tell you about walking the Brooklyn Bridge before 911 and how amazing, yet small the Statue of Liberty looked from that bridge.  I could bore you with drivel about visiting "for reals" with my sister a couple of years ago, and how we walked everywhere we could in one day.  I could tell you about my last trip with my sister and my niece and how very right it feels for me to be there.
Instead, let me tell you the story about how my sister and I both wanted to buy I HEART NY sweatshirts.  Yes. that typical touristy shirt that has the basic I "Heart" NY on it.  They sell them at every street corner and every tourist spot in NYC.  Well, I wanted one.  My sister at the last minute bought a different, more subdued version of the NYC motto.  I went straight for a street vendor and bought a black sweatshirt with the I "Heart" NY ironed onto it.  $15.  Cheap.
At my beloved sweatshirt's first washing, it shrunk vertically at least 4 inches and the iron on shriveled up and came completely off.  My husband laughed and said, "You got taken by a street vendor!"  No sympathy, I tell you.
This gorgeous nail polish by Whimsical Ideas by Pam is named for that shirt. Well, not MY shirt, but that typical white t-shirt.  It is a layering polish with a clear base and white matte hexes. There are also black matte hexes and black matte micro glitters.  It is finished off with beautiful red hearts.
I layered I Love NY over Cult Nails Time Traveler and Zoya Dove. It only seemed fitting to wear it over a concrete color and the blue made sense for patriotic reasons.  What you see is one coat and a little bit of dabbing for one or two of the hearts.  The rest of them went on with a stroke of the brush.  The base was a tad thick, but still easy to work with. I top coated with Gelous and Seche Vite.   Fortunately, the glitter won't shrink in the shower. ;o)
I received SO MANY compliments when I wore this!  And I work in a plumbing supply house-all the compliments were from men!  They would grab my hands and exclaim over it.

Omg I love this. I have to have this polish asap. I was born and raised it NY and only recently moved to Missouri, but NY is where my home and my heart is. I have family there everywhere, and every time I visit I get that same feeling you described! Great post!!!!

I love this!!! I ALMOST bought it this round, but somehow I talked myself out of it in favor of colorful shades.

I like the fact that you wore your polishes differently on each hand. Nicely done! I just got Super Hero and Seuss myself, and now I def need this one too!
