Maya Cosmetics has come out with another winner in my book. This is my 2nd favorite polish in the new collection. It is called Graceless Lady. The minute I heard the name, I immediately thought of my Grandma Grace. She was an amazing woman, and every bit a lady. The fact that her name is Grace obviously made me connect the two, but her quirky sense of humor and that glimmer in her eye are what clinched it. She would not have missed the irony here. If I had told her that this reminded me of her, she would have said, "Well. Are you saying I'm not graceful?!" And I would look and there would have been a glint in her eye and an innocent look on her face. I used to see her at least three times per week until she passed away a few years ago.Graceless Lady is a stunner of a polish. The base is a gray/blue-YUM! There is a subtle holo that I was able to capture in some of the pictures and there is a silver shimmer in it as well, which you can really see in the "shade" picture.
Graceless Lady is almost a one coater. My pinkie has only one coat, but I did have some slightly bare spots on the others and needed two. It was very buttery and went on so very smoothly. I always think of Butter London when I think of buttery smooth, and this had that quality.
Here is Graceless Lady in the shade and you can see the silver shimmer in it very well here!
Next I have a very special polish for you called For Michelle. For Michelle was made in remembrance of Kat's friend Michelle who passed away unexpectedly in June of 2012. You can read more about it HERE.
For Michelle is a ONE COAT red with pink shimmer. I struggled to capture the pink and you can somewhat see it in these sun pictures. This red is not your normal red. It is more of a classic shade.
Did you see what I wrote up there? ONE COAT RED. I didn't even know that was possible! Not only did I not have issues with this polish, but I was floored at the perfection of it! Let me explain...
I had been sent one of the earlier versions of this polish (there were four), and the one I had gotten was great! Once I received this one, I did a comparison of the two, and the ONLY difference is that the earlier version was a two coater. It would have been absolutely fine that way! My point is that Kat is so very dedicated to making her polishes perfect that she won't leave them alone until they meet her very high standards. You just won't get a bad polish with her.
All profits for this polish will be donated to Wounded Warriors Project or the Fisher House Foundation per Michelle's parents.
For Michelle retails for $8 in her shop, but her prices will be increasing to $9.50 starting in February.
You can also read her blog for more in depth information on the polishes and to see her own swatches.
