A Liquid Lacquer The Silmarillion Collection

*PRESS SAMPLE*

~A LIQUID LACQUER: THE SILMARILLION COLLECTION~

A Liquid Lacquer has come out with a new collection based on J.R.R. Tolkien. Here is what she had to say about her inspiration:

The Silmarillion was J.R.R. Tolkien's magnum opus, which he worked on for virtually his entire adult life but was not published until after his death. It's the elves' account of the early history of Middle-Earth, starting with the creation of the universe and detailing the long war against the evil spirit Morgoth and the fate of three jewels called the Silmarils.

Shores of Paradise is a slightly sand-tinted base filled with various shades of gold, brown and white microglitter, plus scattered larger glitter in red, garnet, blue, aqua and clear iridescent. Full coverage in two coats.

This took me 3 coats to opacity. I had my doubts that it would even be opaque on its own, but it was!  The third layer was a bit harder to layer as it got thick, but I managed to make it work.  The result is gorgeous.

Hidden City is a forest-green linear holographic polish with gold, copper and bronze flecks. Beautiful in any lighting! Opaque in two coats.

Hidden City was two easy and opaque coats.  I loved the look of this after it was on and love the nice bend of the holo.
It even looks great outside in the cloudy sky!

Devouring Wave is a blue jelly filled with a riot of metallic, iridescent and holographic hexes and shreds; colors include black, silver, red, blue and purple. May be worn alone or over a base color.

I used three coats and had no real issues with the polish other than the glitters accumulated on a couple of fingers.  I do love the shade of blue that this polish is!
Nightingale's Song is a grey scattered holographic polish sparkling with shimmer and flecks that shift between blue, purple and gold. There are also some rainbow iridescent glitters sprinkled throughout. Looks different in every light! Opaque in 2-3 coats.

I used three coats and had no issues.

Divine Curse has a sheer purple base packed with copper, gold and green shimmer, red flecks, and black flakes that flash purple. Opaque in three coats.

This was three coats of stunning smoky purple.  The base had a great golden shimmer and I loved the complexity of this polish.

Day Shall Come Again has a rust-colored base with a strong multichrome shimmer that shifts from burgundy to red, dark orange and yellow. Amongst the shimmer you will also see copper, green and red sparks. Opaque in 2-3 coats.

I used two coats and had no issues.  The shimmer is so strong it makes the base look like it is what is doing the color shifting!  I loved this gorgeous polish.

Dragonspell is a hypnotizing amber jelly polish with gold flakes and green shimmer.

What a shocker this one was for me!  I am not a fan of browns, but this won me over hard!  I used 3 coats, and had no issues.  The brown base glows in the daylight and the gold flakies are the perfect amount.  The added major bonus was the green shimmer that you could see in certain lights!

Check out the green shimmer!
Parting Thoughts: This was my first time wearing A Liquid Lacquer. Aside from a couple of minor issues, I thought this was a nice lineup.  My favorites were Dragonspell and Divine Curse; but I am sure many of you would love the bolo-Hidden City!
