Maya Cosmetics Going Out of Business Sale

I am so sad to say that Maya Cosmetics is closing its doors after almost two years.  Kat has such a great eye for colors and a natural knack for making consistently great polishes, I am sad to see her go.  There is always speculation when a small business closes its doors, so I thought I would ask Kat if she would like to say anything to her customers about it...

"We both have taken on projects that, unfortunately, don't allow us to devote the time necessary to maintain Maya Cosmetics.  We are sad to let it go but excited to move full speed ahead in our other endeavors.  I am proud to have been a part of the indie polish makers club, and can't wait to see what all the many talented established and up and coming indie makers have in store for the future!"

The GOOD NEWS is that she is having a store closing sale!  ALL polishes will be $4.50 except the smoothing coat which will be $4.  Sale starts today at 3pm EDT through the 20th, at 3pm EDT when she closes for good.

Having said all of that, here are her newest polishes...

Ming Vase is a stunning electric blue jelly with matte white small hexes in it. It went on flawlessly in two coats.  The glitters show throughout the jelly base perfectly in layers and still had enough opacity to cover my nail line.
I used only two coats and had terrific opacity.  I highly suggest getting this one!

Luh U Poppy is a fiery orange jelly with the same idea as Ming Vase but with yellow, orange, and red small matte glitters.   Like Ming Vase, Luh U Poppy, had fantastic coverage and was flawless in application as well.

As if the above glitters, weren't enough, Maya Cosmetics came out with a couple of stunning holos as well.  Techno Rose is an orange linear holo that was opaque in one to two coats.  It went on flawlessly as well.

I loved all five of the ones I was sent, but Clarity was the jaw dropper for me and my favorite.  A JELLY holo, this electric blue is a shade of polish I need in all brands!
I used two easy coats and fell in love with it as I wore it. These pictures just do not do it the justice that real life does!
Here it is under an Ott light.

Last, is a duo-chrome called Trance.  Trance is a purple, maroon duo chrome that was opaque in two coats.  I used no top coat and it looked this glossy on its own!

Parting Thoughts: As I swatched and wore these polishes, I was stunned by the beauty and saddened that the polish community is losing such a creative talent.  Maya Cosmetics has amazing nail polishes that are worth every dollar.  Kat let me know that I was the very first and the very last blogger to swatch for her. I am honored to have been a part of Maya Cosmetics and have made a new friend in Kat.  Kat, I wish you only the best in your every endeavor.

Maya Cosmetics had some parting words to you...
"I want to thank everyone who has supported Maya because it was a big undertaking for both me and John.  We really appreciate our customers and everyone--friends, suppliers, bloggers, other indie makers--who have helped us along the way!"

Price: $9.50  All polishes are $4.50!!

This is sad. :( I've always wanted to try Maya, but never got the chance. Hopefully I can get some extra cash before everything sells out. You did great showing her off!

I didn't see these polishes, but I placed an order for several others. It is tough to make these decisions to shutter a business.
